Public Employee Unions on all levels are living in the Fantasyland that the revenue problems on state levels in America are just a “temporary problem” and the same is true for the unions in the state of California. Oh, these folks are out of touch with reality!
Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger has been negotiating with the unions in hopes of using his leverage relative to passing a budget in California for the upcoming year to get the Public Employee Unions to get their pay increases under control, but mostly to try and effect the coming Pension Tsunami that will destroy the Golden Broken State if major structural changes are not made soon.
The SEIU Local 1000 Union in California is the latest union that continues to live in an Absolute Fantasyland. Just get a load of this dreamland stuff….
SEIU Local 1000 makes offer, awaits response
“The state’s largest public employee union has made an offer to the Schwarzenegger administration as the governor tries to lessen the state’s future pension obligations. But the union rejected Schwarzenegger’s call to increase the amount that state workers pay into their own pension plans.
In its latest offer, SEIU Local 1000, which represents 95,000 state workers, agreed to make “temporary concessions” in exchange for a 5 percent pay increase in 2012. Among the concepts agreed to by the union: increasing the retirement age from 55 to 60 for some employees and a one-year pay cut of about 4.6 percent in exchange for eight hours of personal leave.
“In order to insulate members from further attacks Local 1000 will consider temporary concessions for the state’s temporary budget problems if the state agrees to a longer contract,” the union said in a statement posted on its website.”

The State of California has been run into the ground by the Biggest Bunch of Buffoons, Most Virulent Anti-Business Nuts, Most Living in a Fantasyland Wackos and the Age of the Aquarius Dreamers and the problems that California is dealing with today, including almost a $20 BILLION DOLLAR ANNUAL DEFICIT is the New Normal and will be until some folks that know UP from DOWN are elected to serve in Sacramento!
Since there is NEXT TO ZERO chance that California will elect a majority of people in Sacramento that have any basic understanding of the idea that Waging and All-Out War on Business of a all sizes is not really the best thing to get the state growing again ALL of the Public Employee Unions better get prepared for massive layoffs of public employees on all levels of state government, massive pay cuts, and massive cuts to future pension benefits. As Joe Friday used to say: “Just the facts Ma’am”. That’s the facts folks!
Of course, if California elects Jerry “I love the Moonbeam in the evening” Brown to the Governor’s office things will just get that much worse because that would put NUTS in almost every office in Sacramento that have NO UNDERSTANDING of how to run a hotdog stand, forget about running something like the state of California!
