An Conservative American Citizen Asks: “What IS the Difference Between the Republicans and the Democrats?” The TRUTH: The 10 Minutes Quicker the Democrats Will Bankrupt America Than the Republicans With The Black Hole of Debt That Is Now Being Piled Up With All of This Debt Being Created To Of Course….Keep People In Elective Office and In Power – The American People Have Only Had Control of THEIR Government Two Times In the Past 40 Years and There Will Be Another Opportunity This Fall….But Alas If It Happens It Will Only Be For A Short Time Since Eventually the “Elected Leaders” of the American Republic Will Go Back To Doing What They Do Best: Selling Out the American People To the Highest Bidder With Little Concern For Tomorrow Forget About the Future Lives of OUR Children and Grandchildren

While talking on a conference call on Friday evening with one of our neighborhood volunteer voting captains who are charged with getting out the vote in the November General Election for Conservatives, Republicans and Moderate Democrats in a battleground state that Conservative American Citizen asked a very important question:

“One thing I hear from my friends and co-workers is that there really isn’t much difference between the Republicans and Democrats and after what happened during the Bush II Presidency when the Republicans held the White House and Congress and thus why should we trust the Republicans this time around if they do regain power in Washington?”

Lots of silence after that question because the TRUTH is that even with all of the bluster, accusations, arguing, grand pronouncements and members of the “news media” taking different sides on the political debate in America today along the old and familiar battle lines…

Conservative – Liberal

Republican – Democrat

Small Government – Big Government

…the FACTS are that over the past 20 years or so there has been very little Damn difference between the Democrats and the Republicans and about the only difference between…

John Boehner and Nancy Pelosi

AND

Mitch McConnell and Harry Reid

….is that the Bankruptcy of the American Republic would happen about 10 minutes later with the above Republicans in charge instead of the Democrats.

The sad TRUTH is that if someone from the future traveled back to Washington DC and got Boehner, Pelosi, McConnell and Reid into a room in the US Capitol Building and told them that their current actions of spending America into a Black Hole of Debt was going to destroy the American Republic and had in FACT destroyed the American Republic in the future and with America destroyed the world had become a very dark place with the FASCISTS in power in the countries of China, Russia, Iran, Syria and Cuba (along with their socialist enablers at the United Nations) in charge of things in the world…

John Boehner, Nancy Pelosi, Mitch McConnell and Harry Reid

…would just shrug their shoulders and go back to doing their current Idiocy of spending the American Republic into a Black Hole of Debt and be concerned about the ONLY THING that the “Elected Leaders” of OUR country care about and that is….

The Next Election.

Who Knew? Obamacare is Constitutional Because It Is A “Tax” But Not A Mandate! – We Always Thought That Obamacare Was A Vehicle to Make Health Care Benefits “Taxable” Under IRS Income Tax Guidelines and This Supreme Court Decision Confirms Our Opinion – How Obamacare Might Change How We View and Offer Health Care Insurance to Our Employees – How the Supreme Court Decision Affects The General Election and What We Here At Mad As Hell And… Have Written About Obamacare in the Past

We have written a good bit about Obamacare here at Mad As Hell And… and since we are not constitutional lawyers and don’t claim to know much about Federal Law we were not really sure or not if Obamacare and the Individual Mandate were constitutional or not…..BUT…..if this is a just straight the US Congress “taxing” the American People via a bill passed by the US Congress whether the law was passed using bribery or not (and Obamacare in our opinion was passed by the Democrats buying off a few wavering US Senators) and signed into the law by the President then it would almost have to be constitutional under Federal Law.

Of course, the Obama Administration made the exact OPPOSITE argument before the Supreme Court that Obamacare did not constitute a “tax” on the American People which Michael F. Cannon at Cato @ Liberty nailed brilliantly:

Congress: ‘It’s Not a Tax.’ SCOTUS: ‘Yes It Is.’

“The Supreme Court ruled that ObamaCare’s individual mandate is not constitutional under the Commerce Power, which was how Congress framed the mandate to avoid a political backlash from calling it a tax. Congress and the president swore up and down that the mandate was not a tax. Yet the Court upheld the mandate as a valid use of that disavowed taxing power. What Congress said the individual mandate is, the Court said is not constitutional. What Congress said the mandate is not, the Court ruled is constitutional. Everybody got that?

Where does that leave us?

1. The Supreme Court just enacted a law that Congress never would have passed.
2. The Court just told Congress it is okay to lie to the people to avoid political accountability.”

Oh, now that’s FUNNY!

As for what Obamacare means to us, our companies and our employees in the REAL World we have had our accountants take a hard look at Obamacare and since we offer very strong health care insurance plans to ALL of our employees we really don’t see many changes at all in terms of how we and our employees interact with health insurance companies, medical professionals and hospitals although our accountants do tell us that we can make a lot more money by dropping the health insurance we offer to our employees and sending them to the state health insurance exchanges and just paying a fine to the US Government which we wrote about in March 2011:

“The Rising Cost of Health Care and Thus Health Care Insurance and How “Obamacare” Looks To Us Out Here In the Real World – Is There Actually A Big Incentive For Employers To Drop Their Employees Health Care Insurance and Send Them To the State Health Insurance Exchanges? – Yes, There Is and That Is Absolute Madness! – The Bottom-Line Is That Either The Rising Costs of Health Care Will Be Brought Under Control Or Those Rising Costs Will Bankrupt the American Republic” Mad As Hell And…, March 2011

One of the most ironic things about Chief Justice Roberts and the majority of the Supreme Court ruling that Obamacare was legal if the fines in the legislation were considered a “tax” is that we have always believe that one of the biggest goals of Obamacare was to get health care insurance that is now offered to employees re-classified as “income” and thus can be taxed under IRS income tax guidelines instead of the case now where health care insurance is now treated as non-taxable.

We are talking about Tens of Billions of Dollars of taxes that could be raised by the Federal Government if it can find a way to make health insurance a “taxable” benefit and employers dropping their employees health insurance plans and sending them to state or federal run health insurance exchanges which would lead to most employers giving their employees more salary so they can pay for their own health insurance would of course be “taxable income!”

WA – LA!

Tens of Billions of Dollars in additional tax revenue for the US Government!

As for how the Supreme Court’s ruling on Obamacare might impact the General Election politically…

Mad As Hell And… Quotes of the Day – Thursday, June 28, 2012 – John Steinbeck

“A journey is a person in itself; no two are alike. And all plans, safeguards, policing, and coercion are fruitless. We find that after years of struggle that we do not take a trip; a trip takes us.”

And

“A journey is like marriage. The certain way to be wrong is to think you control it.”

And

“I am impelled, not to squeak like a grateful and apologetic mouse, but to roar like a lion out of pride in my profession.”

And

“I have never smuggled anything in my life. Why, then, do I feel an uneasy sense of guilt on approaching a customs barrier?”

And

“I’ve lived in good climate, and it bores the hell out of me. I like weather rather than climate.”

And

“I’ve seen a look in dogs’ eyes, a quickly vanishing look of amazed contempt, and I am convinced that basically dogs think humans are nuts.”

And

“Ideas are like rabbits. You get a couple and learn how to handle them, and pretty soon you have a dozen.”

And

“If you’re in trouble, or hurt or need – go to the poor people. They’re the only ones that’ll help – the only ones.”

And

“In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage.”

And

“It has always been my private conviction that any man who puts his intelligence up against a fish and loses had it coming.”

And

“It has always seemed strange to me… the things we admire in men, kindness and generosity, openness, honesty, understanding and feeling, are the concomitants of failure in our system. And those traits we detest, sharpness, greed, acquisitiveness, meanness, egotism and self-interest, are the traits of success. And while men admire the quality of the first they love the produce of the second.”

And

“It is a common experience that a problem difficult at night is resolved in the morning after the committee of sleep has worked on it.”

And

“No man really knows about other human beings. The best he can do is to suppose that they are like himself.”

And

“Power does not corrupt. Fear corrupts… perhaps the fear of a loss of power.”

And

“Sectional football games have the glory and the despair of war, and when a Texas team takes the field against a foreign state, it is an army with banners.”

And

“The writer must believe that what he is doing is the most important thing in the world. And he must hold to this illusion even when he knows it is not true.”

And

“We spend our time searching for security and hate it when we get it.”
